Thank you for great article. I really enjoyed reading it and I love fall too, probably because I was born in September :-).
I consume protein shakes especially after good training in gym and they are always the same (almond milk + protein powder). Your receipes are so great, and my number one from your list would be Peppermint Moca Protein Shake. I need to try it as soon as possible. I am sure that it is delicous.

I am not sure it I can buy Pumpkin pie spice here were I live, but I suppose that it can be bought online. Do you have any suggestion which brend to buy? I would like to try it out.

Hey Tamara! Happy birthday month to you! The peppermint mocha is definitely one of my favorites! It’s great both hot and cold – I love a warm cup of that stuff on my way to work on those really chilly late fall/winter mornings. So good! I’m sure you would be able to get some pumpkin pie spice on Amazon…McCormick is my brand of choice – they also have an apple pie spice that is great with vanilla protein powder as well. Enjoy!

    Hi, Megan!

Most of your protein shake recommendations sound delicious 🙂

Sweet Potato pie is a new one for me as I’ve never tried it, but the pumpkin one I will have to pass up on, simply for the fact that I work in shop and I have to handle pumpkins every halloween, so the smell kinda puts me off a little. Maybe if I didn’t work in a shop, it would be a totally different story, lol.

The Caramel Apple protein shake has to be my most favorite one here. YUUUUUUM!!

      Hey Neil!

I totally get where you’re coming from with the pumpkin thing. I worked in a yogurt factory for a couple summers, and I still don’t go near it if I can help it, haha. I hope you’re able to give the Caramel Apple one a try! It’s delish 🙂

These recipes sound incredible- thank you for sharing!
I usually go for the standard frozen berries and vanilla protein combination, but it gets boring pretty quickly. Now it’s getting colder, I’m going to have to try to pumpkin spice shake, because it sounds delicious! Not that it really bothers me, but is there nutritional information available for these recipes?
    Thanks! Chloe

    • Megan says:

A great question, Chloe – I’ll update the post and get the macros for these bad boys up, ASAP. The pumpkin spice is awesome…helps me stay away from that lethal PSL at Starbucks, haha. Thanks for stopping by – hopefully you get to try some of these out!

You definitely have some great looking fall protein shake recipes on the go. I like the fact that you offer some ideas of alternative substitutes for the almond milk for those that may not drink it.

Your also right about all the temptations throughout the year and fall is just one of four seasons to get through but thats where the other recipes for the other seasons can come in to break up how these great shakes taste.

Really good post, until next time.

    • Megan says:

Thanks, Travis! Finding ways to get the flavors we all love, in a healthier way, is essential to making health and fitness a lifestyle. It’s a constant journey, and finding creative ways to achieve it makes the journey all that more fun 🙂

I hope you will post more of the same quality content in the near future, I look forward to returning.

Pumpkin everything is right up my alley, haha. I had to find a way to get that same fall-loving feeling without hurting my calorie intake, and this does the trick! A Starbucks PSL tastes chemical-y and awful to me anymore, after having the real thing for an extended period of time. I love how that happens – the body is truly amazing at adjusting to how you fuel it, and the preferences you end up with help you in the long one!

    Hi Megan,

You have definitely caught my attention with this article. The regular protein shake flavours get so boring become tasteless after awhile. I do understand the milk plays a big role in the flavour profile, do you think substituting the milk with water would be a complete bust? I’m not a big fan of milk in my shakes.

    • Megan says:

Thanks for stopping by Xander! An excellent point – I would say, yes, water can be used in place of almond milk in all of these recipes. I use water in most of my shakes, and find that flavor in the vanilla and chocolate powders are still pretty good – I think Quest probably comes out the most “milk-like,” and I enjoy the MyProtein flavors and how they mix with water, too. Adding almond milk does give a creamier flavor, and is a good way to throw in some extra grams of fat, depending on the macros you’re trying to hit for the day. Hope you get to try some of these out – I’d love to hear how they worked out for you 🙂

Great recipe suggestions! I love fall for the football and everything pumpkin spice! I tend to do protein shakes when I just don’t have time for breakfast.

After reading your article, I tried the pumpkin spice recipe and the peppermint mocha recipe. Both are superb! Thank you for helping me add some new flavors to my protein shakes!

    • Megan says:

Glad to hear it! You know you’re onto something good when you can get all of those great holiday flavors without putting a dent in your progress 🙂

Caramel apple protein shake? That taste as awesome as it sounds? I really hope so cause…
As soon as I am done cutting for the summer, for sure I’m gonna try this shake… I might have to make all of them.
Keep up the good work, I like reading things that are different and this is prove creative people are everywhere.
    See you soon
